I am trying to design a circuit for a 24V dc motor to work in two quadrants.can you help me out in selecting the switching frequency of mosfet used in the control part?I am planning to use a PIC for PWM generation),an IR2111 driver IC for mosfet How to make the motor work in two quadrants?

You will need a stepper motor or a servomotor to be able to control the position of the motor accurately.

what should i do to turn the upper switch on of the half bridge mosfet control circuit of dc motor?IR2111 always turns the lower switch on at first right?so i will not be getting motoring operation initially.which driver circuit i should use instead of IR2111?
