Hi Guys,
I have an old land rover and the voltage regulator for the dipped headlights appears to have packed up and gone short circuit (headlights always on, very annoying). I have pulled the unit apart and my suspicion is that the transistor has shorted out as I have evidence of overheating in the tracks on the bottom of the PCB. Here is the link to a data sheet that I have found for the transistor
http://www.semicon-data.com/transistor/tc/a0/A1293.html
The transistor in question is shown in the picture, I can't seem to find a part on Farnell that exactly matches the same specifications, can anybody recommend a part that would be equivalent? I appear to have run out of my university knowledge of transistors!
Thanks guys any information is exceedingly helpful!
Tom
