    Hi All,

I have a Nordic Track EXP 100 which is 12 years old in good condition. Suddenly stopped working . I realized that the control Panel is not working after calling Nordic Track. I looked up the circuit diagram and made an attempt to put a remove 2 wires from the control panel that controls the motor, ground and PWM ( BLUE PWM ). I applied 1.5 volts using a AA battery and realized that the motor is working but would just spin at high speed. Now the control pannel is about 150 USD, was trying to see if there are alternative to avoid getting the panel. I am fine even if I just the treadmill to just spin but in a controlled fashion.

Any advice is much appreciated. I have attached the the circuit diagram.

If you are certain that the motor is good I would check the motor board. Check the SCR's and the bridge rectifier to see if they are operational. Then go from there. Most SCR's can be tested on or off the board but is better if you can get it off the board for testing. This is a simple tester that can give you a kind of go / no-go test for the SCR...
