Transistor(grounding common terminal)

Is it really necessary to ground the common terminal in CB,CC or CC amplifier?If not grounded does it bring any change in circuit?

In BJT amplifiers ground means that one of a BJT terminal (Base, Emitter, Collector) is common to input and output signal.
