    Hello everyone, I have to prove the formula for the current gain is:

    β =α /( 1 - α) where α is "alpha". I was hoping someone could tell me how to visualise this problem, because I have only been taught in the lesson to remember the formula and never to derive it! Thankyou!

    Do you agree with these definitions?
    Ic=αIe
    Ic=βIb
    Ie=Ic+Ib

    If so, you can derive β in terms of α.
