I found an old 2010 post referring someone to TinyCad, and it looks great for the price.

My question is, how complete is the device support? Is there a continuously updated IC and semi library?
It concerns me that it hasn't been updated since 2010.

Does TinyCad support devices like SIM900 GSM chips, SMT, TVS diaode arrays,?

Is it possible/difficult to create devices not in the library?

I am going to begin review of the manual, but I mainly wanted user opinion. If there is another low cost or free schematic tool that's better I'm open.

 

It's free, just download it and take it for a ride. I've been using it for years, yes it's limited, but it does what I need. Your needs may vary.

I also used tiny CAD for years. It actually helped me create professional circuit diagrams--all for free. I suggest you add the updated version today and compare it with the old version. ​

 

Anyone using TinyCad know where the definition of the Design markers are in order to get rid of errors when using the Check Design Rules?
The sample programs are not much help as they also have quite a few errors when the CDR is ran.
