Do I need to have an O-scope to test a three phase motor or can a multi-meter be used ?

 

If you are using regular old sine-wave AC instead of something peculiar, then a multimeter will do nicely.

 

In my practicals i have conducted blocked rotor and no load test (some several others..though just because it was mentioned in the course) i only remember using voltmeters and ammeters, P.F. meters and wattmeters.

I guess in the case of a three phase induction motor would I only be concered with Volt and amperage readings at the stator and rotor ?
