This item came from DigiKey with an order from last year that I didn't bother to check until now. It is supposed to be part number 495-3158-ND -- a 0.47 uF, 400V metallized film capacitor from Epcos.

That it is not. The resistance from metal base to tab is 48 ohm measured in both directions.

Does anyone have a clue as to what it really is?

    Just curious.

The "B" looks like it is from Bourns. I know they make a lot of resistors and resistor arrays.

That's it. What a bargain I got, if I could only find a use for it. They are $16.67 with a minimum of 100 pieces.

    Thanks for the help.

    Hello,

The part is a RF resistor.
They can be used as a RF load to test a transmitter.

    Greetings,

    You're welcome.

Now I hope you don't have to reorder that capacitor all on its own...
