IF the phone functions you can reach 911 (as a federal guideline) so you have an emergency method to contact fire, sheriff, Ambulance, etc. That can be a damn good thing to have in an emergency pack, etc.
If you want to tear it apart; again the critical issue is if it works......if so you have functional transmission of signal as a starting point. If not....you had better understand the standards involved with SMD assembly and dissembling. Without the correct tools, it's not fun. There MAY be some materials that can be combined with DIY outboard stuff like the keypad to make a lock, etc.
