I am interfacing K-type thermocouple with cold junction compensation. Is below is right way of cold junction compensation:

    1. measure voltage generated by TC. Now use look-up table as given in:
    http://www.reotemp.com/thermocoupleinfo/type-k-thermocouple.htm

to get the temperature corresponding to that voltage.

    2. Measure cold junction temperature.

    3. Add both temperature to get final absolute reading.

What is the range of temperature you want to measure?

    Range is -40 to +50C.

Does range depends upon above sequence??
