    Hi guys,
I have been set a project to measure air temperature (range -25 to 40) and log data to pc and don't really know where to start. I am a complete novice at this and any help on where to start would be greatly appreciated.

I can use any sensors i see fit. After much research I have ruled out thermocouples and thermistors mainly due to non-linear outputs. I have narrowed my choice down to either pt100 or lm35 as sensor. Also, I have been looking into usb data aquisition systems and pic controllers to process data. I think I can rule out using daq due to cost unless there is one available in college. Basically I am looking for info on what components are needed and how i would go about starting my circuit

Cheers for the link, lots of very useful info to get me started. I will continue researching and will post again in next couple of days when I have more definite questions to ask.

    Thanks for your time guys.
