I have a really old Sony digital micrometer (u-Mate).
It ain't workin'.
There's only 4 Ohms of resistance between the positive and negative terminals on the power inlet, so I'm thinking the power supply is shorted out somewhere.
I'm FAR from an electronics expert, but looking at the board the power seems to run through a circular component with 10-pins that could possibly be the issue. Either that or one of the caps has shorted out.
I've googled a bit and can't find any info on either the u-Mate or the 9Z TZ-53. Anyone know what this thing is, how I could test to see if it's the problem, and where I could find a replacement component if needed?
