For my project I require to switch power factor correction capacitors from the output of PIC18F452. Please suggest me a good solution. Is it advisable to use IGBT, Power MOSFET as the switching device? If yes kindly give an idea about its implementation. I'm Eagerly waiting for the reply of experts.:):):):)

You can't control AC with devices made to use DC only. It might be better to use relays.

You give no parameters, so the answer is quite general.
