Surge rating of cables

Can anybody help with source of information on surge ratings of single core copper cables in air. Cable sizes 6 - 25mm2, imax, i2t etc

My guess would be that you would need to define the TIME element of the surge before any meaningful data could be produced. A wire could sustain a 1 microsecond surge better than a 500 microsecond surge at the same current level.

Type of insulation is also a factor for current rating. OP needs to give us more information to get a meaningful answer.
