    Here is the problem
    [IMG]
I'm having problems taking the Vb and the relation of the Dependent CS both when I try to short the VS and open the CS
Would Mesh Analysis work in the case of the VS, and then Node Analysis in the case of the CS?

Have you considered simplifying the circuit by replacing the 10A current source and the 20 ohm resistor with its Norton Equivalent?

A current source in parallel with a resistor is a Norton equivalent, isn't it?

    Perhaps you meant Thevenin equivalent.

Electrician, You are absolutely correct. Thanks for that clarification. You will have to forgive my momentary lapse.

Apologies to gengm for the mistake. I should have said convert the 20 ohm resistor and the paralleled 10A current source into their Thevenin's equivalent as the Electrician has indicated.
