I want to try out this model railway controller circuit but the place I usually get my components from doesn't list a D13T1. In fact it only lists two PUTs - the 2N6027 and 2N6028. I don't know anything about PUTs so I was hoping for some guidance on whether either of these two would be a suitable replacement.

It is a PUT. It is wildly expensive.

What is that supposed to do? There may be another way to do it with common parts.

 

yeah i noticed the astronomical price from that website too!

The idea behind this schematic is that it provides feedback by using the back EMF produced by the motor to adjust the motors speed to keep it constant.

I'd love to know how to make a similar circuit using more common parts but so far whenever i try searching the net for information, i just get results for really complicated industrial motor control.
