Suggestions for the final year electronics projects

I am an electronics student of Nepal studying at Pulchowk Campus We are going to do a final year project.We are 4 members in total and we want to do a good project in PIC which could be reliable and accepted by the department.
Please Help ME:confused:

How advanced do you want it to be?

What about a weather station? I only say this because I am about to start work on this myself. Might be some time before I get to finish it though.

It could consist of:-
Remote wind speed (anemometer) and direction sensor (vane). Possibly also measure temperature and rainfall (funnel and tipping bucket). Mounted on top of a tower with wireless transmission of data to a display unit in a building. Display unit to store data and display maximum, minimum, average and trends.

The remote unit will be powered using a small solar panel and re-chargeable battery. So needs to be low-power.

Use small wireless FM transmitter and receiver modules to get about 100m range.

Just an idea. You probably get a lot of weather in Nepal!
