    Dear Forum,
I am using the attached circuit for firing a pulse coil. I would like to replace the Xenon Flash Tube with an SCR to lower the series resistance.
Can anyone suggest how to do this?
    Thanks!

    Hi Forum,
I tried the attached, but the neon stays on, and won't oscillate.
    Any suggestions?
How about replacing the neon with a DIAC?
    Thanks!

Here are the images. (Don't use Word docs - few will bother to look)

The circuit runs from non-isolated 110 VAC.
