If I still lived in the city, I'd probably react that way too.

When I moved to Alabama, I saw the very first fox in my life. In all the time I spent in the country of Texas and Arizona, never one fox. I thought they might even be extinct. But I saw one a night while I was checking my mail. Since then, I've seen a few more. They do seem scarce. I've seen lots of coyotes. I think coyotes kills are stupid. The thinking is that they attack cattle, but a full-grown cow will stomp a coyote to death. Also, they help to control other animals who compete with the cattle for food. Attempts to control wildlife generally affects the balance, with adverse results.

I totally agree. I have to laugh at some of the "corrective" measures we take.
