hi i have a part that looks like a transistor that im trying to find a datasheet and a replacement for.

    the package is a to-92
    first line: STP35B
    second line: TI9210

    any ideas?
    thanks.

also the first lead is clipped and the circuit they are only using lead 2 and 3
and the body is heatsinked, they drilled a hole in aluminum and it stickes into that hole, like they used it for a thermocouple or something.

A photograph would be interesting to see.

Two leads suggests a diode. What does a meter say?

This suggests the lead has been intentionally left off. The presence of a PN junction and some further information as to why the OP thinks this part needs replacing would be really helpful.

    Hello,

Could it be the part is used as a zener?
The breakdown voltage is about 6 - 7 Volts.

the part is only using pin 2 and 3 by design. dosen't make sence to me
i need to find a datasheet for this so i can find a replacement part.

i know the circuit is 5 vdc and the body goes into a heatsink block.
its suppose to be for verifying temp. but it dosent make sence how its wired. with pin 1 not connected.

    thanks

as far as i can tell this is what they are using this for.
i don't have any schmatics of the circuit they are using but they use something to check the temp of that plate its mounted on and thats the only electronics that it contacts.
