If it's acting like I posted earlier, you corrected the problem. Your oscilloscope will prove it's working or not.

The simulations have the potentiometer set to fifty percent.

 

Your next task is to look up the 555 formulas and compute the frequencies you should observe and then verify them.

I have been working on this circuit for months, and I got a lot of help from this Forum. I still don't feel completely comfortable converting schematics to a breadboard working circuit, but I am feeling better about it. And again if anyone knows of any books or videos or anything on how to learn reading and understanding schematics, Please send it my way. This Forum is awesome.
