I have a six wire stepper that doesn't want to cooperate, i.e. finding the center taps. After isolating the coils, every combination equals 11 ohms. What am I doing wrong?

 

Are you certain that it's a stepper motor? It just might be a three-phase motor with delta and wye windings.

What is the manufacturer and part number of the motor?

 

Yes, I am sure it is a stepper motor salvaged from an old printer. Unfortunatley, I wiped the data off the label when cleaning ink from the motor. It is one of those black square steppers. Any two of the wires of each coil will cause the motor to drag. I will try another multimeter to see if results are the same.
