I want to start with embedded linux. can any1 guide me right path.
Should I start with with shell scripting.

Embedded means that the linux is running on some kind of stand alone system.
This can be a micro controller or a special computer.
Most times the linux is present in flash memory of that system.

As for the scripting language for linux, very often the BASH scripting is used:
