    Dear Forum,

I am going to start standard cell design, and would like to know some ides/experience connected with that project. Mainly I am interested in following points
    1) what are the general guidelines of std cell design?
    2) What cells should have an std library?
    3) How to characterize the std cells?
    4) How to design retention flops?

    Any ideas/comments would be helpful.

Define what you think of as a cell. It is so vague as to be unintellagable.

Sorry for not being more specific.

Yeah, by standard cell I mean exactly what studiot mean.
Please see the std cell description from wiki:

P.S. Bill none is obligating you to write a comment...

Nope, but you asked a question which did not have enough info to help. I was not the only one to ask, just the first. You are off to a bad start if you want help, as other members will judge you by what you write. Think about it.
