hi all. im currently working on a stopwatch simulation project for my final project in my digital design class and got stuck on making these "split" and "lap" features 
this is how the layout basically looks like:

the counter stuffs are pretty much about to be done.
but the split and lap features.. err.. pretty confused on how to make them.
the split here is defined as printing out the counter up process as the stopwatch is ticking without stopping the counter.
while the lap is defined as printing out the counter up process as the stopwatch is ticking while it is also resetting the counter up process it self back to 00:00:00:000 (notice that im making HH:MM:SS:MsMsMs)
those two can be printed out for 4 at most.
do i have to start this by making some memories?
