If you are using a spectrum analyzer to view an AM envelope and the Y axis is displayed in DB how can you convert this to voltage? There are equations for DBm or DBv, but I cant find one for DB other than Vout/Vin which I cannot use in this case. I would appreciate any help.

    Thanks.

    0 dBm = 1 mw

so the voltage depends on the impedance you are dealing with, such as 50Ω.

Most spectrum analyzers will read in dBm.
