Does anybody know what a "special" resistor is?

http://www.audioimplements.com/CellPhonePage.html Model Part #329 Model #HDS-93 towards the top of the page. Also mix channels together wouldn't be just jumping the tip to the sleeve? Snake oil??

Not exactly snake oil. It's good to put some resistance in series with each side of a stereo signal before you mix them together. I use 1k, but there's nothing "special" about them.

Basically yes cell phone to earphone that goes to a receiver http://www.audioimplements.com/Receivers.html IFB through cell phone for on camera people. The funny thing is their "regular" cable does the exact same thing it's only tip and ring but works on iphones and Blackberrys That's why I put snake oil!!!!

What would be the purpose of the resistor? And how do you wire it on a Tip, Ring, Sleeve connector to Tip, Sleeve??

without the resistors, one chanel can get into the negatvie feedback for the other chanel. the resistors isolate the channels.
