ok i have a monitor here with a shorted diode its a small orange one with a black band it has on it c2 on one side and 2 on the other side what can i repalce it with i have some other ones here but know of there the right current

 

much better if you can provide picture. knowing which part of the block of the circuit will be a good help also to know exactly if there is a proper replacement for it.

 

hi and thanks for your reply i will get pictures later of the unit as far as i can make out its heading for the output transistor then into the crt definetly on that line i will upload a pic later

 

I'm not sure but with regards to your description it could be the flyback diode. Did it go to the flyback transformer? what is the symptom of your monitor?

 

hi still havent got any pictures for you to have a look the sympton of the monitor is power but no display so it makes sence what you say ill try my best to get some pictures of it i could never understand what diodes these are
