hi
i want to design sollarcell car using Dc to DC converter i have the circuit but i have these quistion if anyone can help me.

i will design a switch-mode, non isolated, dc-dc converter which can supply 3V at 2A nominal (6W) for powering a solar modelcar. The complete specifications are as follows:
· Input voltage Vin = 15V nominal, 10V min working, 20V abs max.
· Output voltage Vout = 3Vdc.
· Output current capability from 2A nominal, 3A maximum, 0.5A minimum.
· Converter Vout ripple = 100mV maximum.
· Converter output current ripple less 1%.
· Converter output voltage regulation = 0.2V (ideally 2.9-3.1V), for 0.5 - 3A load and 10-20Vdc input voltage.
· Target efficiency of > 80%.

the quistions are

  1. In practical design, the capacitors are not ideal. How to meet the design specification if ESR (equivalent series resistance) is considered in the design?

  1. In practical design, the inductors are not ideal. How to meet the design specification if the inductor resistor is considered in the design?

  1. MOSFET on losses

  1. Switching Frequency

  1. How to increase the efficiency your converter design? Start with possible losses in converter and state your methods to reduce the losses.

Greetings kh81hk,

I agree that this thread appears to be a classroom assignment. As such, it belongs in the homework section.
