I was using a software for programming(PIC) but it doesnot work n Win 7. If anybody can suggest a software which works in Win7 along with a simulator software for Win7.

MPLab X should work with Win 7.

I'm using it as I write with Win7-64 Pro but if you are starting out, use MPLAB X as suggested. It works fine with Win7.

Caveat: some legacy third party software has trouble with Win7-64. For example, HiTech PICC-18 8.35xx does not properly report errors through MPLAB 8.xx with Win7-64.

While Microchip development tools/software/hardware have had occasional issues, its still the way to go IMHO.

I use MPLAB 8.86 ok with Win 7 64 bit and have no problems.
I still use the old MPLAB coz I have a PICTSTART programmer taht is not supported under MPLAB-X

Thanks for your help, it worked. I am just planning to do a project which uses - "at commands". Can anybody tell from where I can get those commands. I want to learn it for my project.

AT commands are used to control MODEMs like GSM modem. What I have learnt from others, these are some command lines which were given to the MODEMs to do some work for example sending message through GSM MODEM or making call to a number.
