software RAID programs

    i'v lernened of a bunch of difrent types of raid. windows has a few like 0,1,5. some ohter hardware can do 34 but those arn't that good. not aware of any program for raid 10,6,51,0+1,15 gooled it not finding a whole lot. just something out of curiostity and maybey something i can experiment with on an old server.

    In order to have a raid setup. You must have either a onboard raid controller on your mother board. Or stand-alone RAID cards that use the PCI bus.

    that is the best way, but it can be done using windows vista, server 2008 and many others. lilley also 3rd party ones around. hardware is better because in reduces CPU utilization and can give redundancy as well as bootable raid arays.
