I thought I might be able to use a surface mount replacement for a DIP package, now obsolete and not available (LMF100) for a switched capacitor audio filter. But the prospects of carving a circuit board at that scale with even a tiny Dremel tool now have me hesitant.

I just happened to hear of SMT to DIP adapters, but I'm having trouble finding a specific 20 pin size that would go from 'small package' to 20 pin DIP. I don't mind using a circuit board or socket, hopefully affordable for just a couple pieces.

Looking for any recommendations, part numbers, sources, surplus, whatever, that might make this work. Thanks.

What package is the SMT part?
http://www.capitaladvanced.com/products.htm maybe something in their 9000 series.

 

Sometimes it's handy to have a grab-bag of selections, like this smt board. The 8 pin SOIC's seem be the first to go. Have bought from ebay and dipmicro for smt adapters too.

 

A lot of these type of adapters are referred to as surfboards, as in the ones posted by mcgyvr...
