How do we set up the SS pins of the master to designate it to any port?

Depends on the processor and the specific peripheral from that processor family. Sometimes you use it as a general purpose I/O pin along with other chip selects on other pins. Sometimes the control for a collection of chip selects is in the peripheral device itself. We need more information in order to answer your question:

1. Which processor?
2. Which peripheral?
