    Hello.

My furnace has a PSC motor with a bad run capacitor. Size = 4 MFD, 370 VAC. I had to mail order it, as I couldn't find one anywhere in town.

I just bought a 5 MFD, 370 VAC capacitor to band-aid my furnace until the mail order part arrives.

Will it hurt anything to run this capacitor with my motor, for a few days?
The motor is 200-400 dollars, so I don't want it to fail prematurely.....

    Thanks in advance,

You will be OK, you could even leave it in and still be fine and have a spare if it ever goes bad again.
