    hi guys,
thanks in advance for the help.

i am a bit of a novice as far as electronics go but i am extremely keen to learn.

i am working on a small project and i require what seems to be quite a simple concept for the idea to work.

i need a circuit that when i hit a pressure switch closing the circuit sends a pulse to a 3V 1mW laser switching it on for a fraction of a second, (.5 of a second is perfect) after which it will switch off regardless of weather the circuit is still closed.

once again, your help will be much appreciated.

    many thanks,

    Emile Theodore aka Simple

A one shot circuit is probably your best bet here.

    Simple,

http://home.cogeco.ca/~rpaisley4/LM555.html#4 Circuit #5. With a LM7555 it will theoretically work at 3V. But you could operate it at a higher voltage and use the laser in series resistors or diodes to get the 3V. How do you plan on powering it?...batteries?...wallwart?
