Hi,
I have a small project that I am doing for my halloween costume. I bought a lighted rocker switch from radio shack. All I want it to do is light up when I turn it on, nothing else. I have it wired to a 9 volt battery. When I connect the battery, it gets really hot. The switch has three prongs on it, power, load, and ground. How should I wire it so there is no danger of the battery exploding?

Just connect the power pin to the positive terminal and the ground pin to the negative terminal.
