I picked these up a little while ago for next to nothing .. But I was thinking about rebuild to new status interally and keep the old school outside what's your thoughts ????

Sorry I should have said it was way out of spec and there are a couple on each that still good ..

 

I'd definitely keep the front panel then.....

 

The resistor substitution box was one of the first Heathkits I ever put together. It was in the mid 70s (I think). Attached is a picture of it today. Yes, it has been through hell, I have replaced most of the resistors in it and every few years I have to hit it with a little contact cleaner. It has earned an honored place on my test bench.

Fix it up, it will be a good friend.
