thinking about building a security robot

this was the basic idea. Either a small one like the size of an Irobot vacum cleaner ( size of plate) or the size of a push mower in length and width. Its main function to basically to go around my house and patrol. Any one got any good schematics or designs for a project like this? Any ideas would be good...

Its just in the napkin stages now...

I wanted it to alert the person on the premises as well as myself when it picks up motion and heat. Even if its a dog maybe make a noise or something

 

It would probably be better to get an alarm system with PIR sensors!

However, you'll probably need to split this project into at least three segments: Mechanical, Motion, and Detection.

One thing to consider with Detection is prevention of false alarms. E.g., if the sensor is moving, how do you differentiate between an immobile heat source such as a heater, and a mobile one such as you?

I don't know, I think a Tesla bot would be cool, sort of like the one in the movie "Runaway".

 

Tesla bot...cool....yeah definitely. But i'd be scared of it burning down the house
