    Hello,

Why is there a seperate part circuits and projects ?
It only contains "The Projects Collection" at the monent.
Are there plans to add more items in this section ?

    Greetings,
    Bertus

    bertus,

It is part of a restructuring exercise I'm currently doing to the forums with the intention of making things a little clearer, more organised, and easier to find information. As for "Circuits and Projects", yes we intend to add more items to this section in the future that will follow the theme of "Circuits and Projects"; however at the moment there are a few things we need to iron out before we add them, hence why there is only the Projects Collection forum there at the moment.

    Regards,

    Dave

    Hello Dave,

It appeared so sudden this afternoon.
    Thanks for the explanation.
Success with ironing out of the things.

    Greetings,
    Bertus

Thanks bertus. Hopefully things will become slightly clearer in due course.

Hmmm, I suspect some hand in it, stirring the pot so to speak.

I have been publishing some online articles, not too many to date (just started a second) that don't really fit into the AAC book. I've been linking them to my blog. I use the forums because they are more flexable for editing and illustrations than the blogs, as there is a 2000 character limit (or something close to that) and blogs will not allow attachments on replys.

Is there a better way? I am being an odd duck, to date I've seen myself and one other come up with what I would call an article.

The other thing is I would like to submit some offering to the AAC book. I'm a little reluctant to date because we are running behind on some entries and corrections. My inclination is to do it the same way I've done it in the past, write it online for up to date peer review. Not sure if this is a valid concept, but I think it should work.

Couple of months ago I asked the question "Have the blogs changed?" that never got an answer. I suspect yes, they seem to be friendlier to the format I was aiming for when I started my AAC blog, but this could be an incorrect perception. The downside is I can't set each sub blog for the setups I'd like for that blog entry, nor was I able to start a new blog.

I've been working on my version of the cookbook in the albums area, as mentioned in this thread. It has helped in that it has shown where rule changes might be needed. I'll pick this discussion up on the other thread though. The one question I would ask is will this effort help the site in general?

Yes, Bill you have been an important driver in this.

The limit is 20000 characters and 5 in-line images. The attachments in replies is something that appears to be baked in by design. I would suggest you create a category, and then add a new entry each time you create something new, whilst linking back to the previous entry (it creates a trail).

This will hopefully become clearer in due course.

Apologies Bill, I missed that thread. In future, if I haven't replied it is most likely that I have missed it rather than I am ignoring you - feel free to PM me and draw my attention to it. Yes, they have gone through several changes and are increasingly easier to use. There is a pending update however we are holding off because some of the Mod tools are not yet compatible.

Can you clarify this point? Are you saying that you cannot write a new blog entry?

Yes, I spent quite some time yesterday looking over this. Let me start by saying, great little set-up, and great pictures. The Albums idea does, however, have some short-comings; firstly, Albums are per-account, that is an Album for each user account, therefore using them for a cookbook would mean the cookbook is highly decentralised (not desirable). Secondly, you have gestured towards this, but the Album entries are ordered inversely, that is last entry is ordered first. I will make some specific comments in the said thread regarding the cookbook idea, where some good feedback has already been provided.

We have trialled some software which caused forum wide issues, so I am investigating another option with Rob. The most important thing from my perspective is that it needs a framework to be sustainable. I will let you know in due course of any progress.
