My question is related to software defined radio, and communications theory.
I am trying to code a simple transmitter (using a USRP) but I am not sure how to adjust the bandwidth of the transmit signal, when I look at it in a spectrum analyzer the signal is very wide.
I am inclined to believe that the bandwidth is determined by the sampling rate. If so, I guess i the DAC of the USRP is responsible for the bandwidth? so perhaps decimation would allow me to change (reduce) the bandwidth?
I wont have access to equipment to test if my reasoning is correct for a while, so any help will be greatly appreciated.
