Hello! hopefully someone here can help out with this:
I have security camera system with a DVR. The DVR has an RS485 PTZ connection (A-B-G) and the embedded software has PTZ functionality, my cameras, however, are stationary.

Through the "highly" creative use of old RC car motors and technic legos, I've managed to motorize one of the cameras, but want to integrate the PTZ functions of the DVR to actually control the motors. So.....

Can I put together a fairly simple circuit with a max485 IC to drive the motors, or will the circuitry be more complex, requiring a more sophisticated IC that requires programming?
Either way, is there somewhere online where I can get a schematic for a project like this?
