I'm going to be making my own RS232 to TTL Converter

using a MAX232 IC and 0.1uF Ceramic capacitors..

the Diagrams/schematics Show where the positive lead of the Capacitor goes, But i honestly have no idea on these Capacitors which is positive or if there is..

Also if anyone has any pointers, or other thoughts on making one of these converters.. i'm all ears :)

    Thanks in advance

The .1uF and the 104pF caps are not polar. Arrange them any way that suits.

However if you are using the MAX232 you need to use 1uF capacitors not 0.1uf and those will be polarised.
