RS232 signal to BCD converter

    I need to know how to convert RS232 signal into BCD format ?

    Think what BCD is.

    Think what you need.

    Actually your question seems like a reasonable one to me.

    Since you are dealing with an 8-bit binary value received over your RS-232 link then you can predict what the range of BCD numbers you will need to be able to support. The smallest value is 0 and the largest value is 255.

    Before I divulge any more information it would be nice to know if this question is part of a class assignment?

    The RS232 is a protocol, which describes hardware (mechanical and electrical specifications). The BCD is a data format.
    It is possible from the question understand what he meant and make assumptions.
    The RS232 supports 6, 7, 8 bits...which create more assumptions.
