i saw a heath kit rf generator, condensor tester in an auction add for next weekend. is a rf generator the same as a function generator? as far as i know a capacitor and condensor are the same thing. is that corect?

 

The RF generator is also known as a signal generator, used to align the RF section(s) of HF receivers. A function generator is an entirely different instrument, which generates several different waveforms for display on an oscilloscope and/or testing specific circuits for performance.

 

It seems likely that the RF Generator and the Condenser Tester are two different Heathkit units.
