When switching cca 1.5-2A from a 3V source, what NPN transistor would you recommend, so that it has the smallest possible drop when on?

Simulation with BD139-16 shows 1.02V drop @1.18A. Is it possible to get lower?
Is there any mosfet that could turn fully on with just about 2.4V on gate?

Finally i rejected all epoxides and stuff, and bought a kilo of fast-setting cement, which should give me enough stregth an be stable up tu hundreds of celsius. I made a cage from copper wire, and then encased it with the cement, kind of like reinforced concrete, with the wires going through silicon bushings. The only downside so far is the working time of the cement - 5 minutes, which makes me work in layers.

Tomorrow I will see how strong the setup is and how well it performs with 1.5Ω 1W ceramic resistor coupled with KTY-84 temperature sensor.

Sorry no photo yet as I have to borrow a camera, but finally I have a working solution for the control circuit.

P.S. the schematic is upside down, positive rail is at the bottom
