Original switch not avalible, want to replace by connecting to full wave rectifier,then running positive wire to light dimmer switch,then to dc motor... Sound right ?.? Suggestions ???

 

Is the original switch a variable speed and is it a mains operated scroll saw?
If so then it most likely is a Universal motor and does not need the bridge.

Don't know about mains, tried hooking up direct ,motor locks up and buzzes ,hooked up to 12 volt car battery and run fine ,but slow , after rectifier,runs fine but can't regulate speed . How do i hook up to regulate speed????
