    Hi Guys

I'm working on a little project for my car. I have 4 CCFL tubes along with a transformer to accept the 12vdc from my car.

I want the tubes to accept two separate positive sources, one from the headlights (so they turn on when the headlights are on) and two from the map light so they turn on when the doors open.

Since I'm using two electrical sources I understand I'll need a relay. How many will I need, what type, where will they connect and is there anything else I'll need for this project?

    Thanks a bunch

What is the current draw of the EL tubes? It is possible that this could be accomplished without relays.

Like an OR'ing circuit with 2 diodes?
Diode 1's anode to headlight circuit.
Diode 2's anode to map light circuit.
Diode 1's and 2's cathodes tied together and to CCFL's driver (+).
    CCFL's driver (-) to ground.

Each cathode transformer draws about 0.7 amps of power at 12 volts.

This is what I was thinking about.

    That's what I had in mind. :)

Load of 0.7A should be OK with your schematic as well.
