    Hi,

Im new to electronics and I want to use a couple of latching relays.

I have this relay, but unsure how to wire this up to latch a motor.

This is my circuit, basicly when a door is opened the motor turns forward, gets to a point and hits a switch and then stops and a light turns on.
When the door is closed the motor turns backwards and the light turns off and gets to a point and the stops.

I have made the circuit on breadboard.

The open door switch starts the relay which turns the motor forward and hits the light switch and turns the light on and the motor stops. (Okay here)

The door switch is then closed which starts the relay which turns the motor backwards and the laser goes off but is being dragged down and parts get very hot!.

With your circuit, the relay only works when going one way, so you must have wired it up wrong.

Your relay is just a normal single coil type, there is a diagram of its pinout on the link.
