The key word for a digital power supply is SMPS (switching mode power supply). As for linear, have you tried linear power supply as a keyword for a google search?
I have absolut no knowledge of regulation technique, but I'm going to participate in a course about analog/digital regulation, and hoped that I could gain just a little knowledge before starting.
I know that we in the cource are going to make an exercise in both analog and digital (by use of a DSP) regulation technique, just to see the difference between these techniques.
I think that the exercise i going to be something about regulating a electro magnet that make a metal ball soar.
That is actually not a power supply issue, but one of negative feedback, fundamental to many circuits, especially op amps. Power supplies use it too of course, but like I said, it is a fundamental concept.
