What are your goals? What is your budget? How much space do you have? What is the status of your knowledge, skills, and abilities? What equipment etc do you already have?

Hello,

Also the area of interest is of great influence on the needs.
You will need other stuff for analog projects than for digital or microcontroller projects.
RF projects are again an other area.

If you tell us what area is of the main interest, we can give ypu a better advice.

Soldering iron
Desoldering Station
Assorted Resitors
Assorted Caps
Assorted LED's
Assorted LCD's
Assorted Transistors
Assorted Trimmer pots
jumper wires
ESD matt
Multimeter
Oscilloscope
Logic Analyzer
Freq Generator
Breadboards
555 timers
Possibly a set of cmos logic chips
Dev kits for all major chips, Microchip, Atmel, NXP, etc...
Laser Thermometer
Wire snips
Shrink tube
heat gun
Digital or Analog Calipers
Decent Power Supply
etc...

These have been the basic stuff I've gotten to set up my lab. Really the list could go on and on depending on the exact field your working in. But this list is pretty general you could use on all stuff.
